Rosie Emerson is an award-winning British contemporary artist creating unapologetically feminine works on paper using a variety of printmaking and photographic techniques. Inspired by her love of theatre she uses costume, lighting, set and prop making to create otherworldly scenes that embrace the drama of the baroque, and the ethereal quality of the Pre-Raphaelites, elevating her subjects to goddess-like status. 

Her works are delicately embellished with bronze powders and gold leaf, as well as more unusual materials including charcoal powder, ash, and sawdust. These textural details shift the focus of printmaking from precision and replication to the creation of unique, hand-finished pieces.
