Bobbye Fermie's practice is an ongoing response to themes of personal boundaries, social anxiety, belonging and duality, resulting in dreamlike scenes of interiors and places that are often inhabited by a sole female figure.
The works highlight and search for the boundaries between the private and public space and what the idea of home and privacy means in today’s society.
Sources are found in images of cultural depictions and archetypes of the home and interiors, spanning from pre-renaissance paintings to set design to interior magazines.
Bobbye lives and works in London.
